Lucian, spy and assassin, is a character in and before the rp Zyarc. While his current exploits can be read in the Zyarc thread, his early times were cataloged in his diary from his beginning days as a trainee of Kalidor to the assault on Zyarc.

Those wishing to comment, pm me or leave a message in the Zyarc ooc thread. Kalidor, Anastasia, Edmund, and Lucian are currently characters role playing in the Zyarc RP thread.

Smack!

"Son of a--" Well, Kalidor never held back for anything else, especially me. God damn it. He always mixes in some martial arts with that big-ass claymore of his. It's a funny story really how he shot up through the ranks to Captain-Commander, but I'll explain more about that later; I'm going to be licking my wounds for a while.

God damn roundhouse; I always miss it.

I was bruised. Oh, so very bruised. Still not fast enough he says. Watch your back he says. Set traps he says. Stop touching your dick he says. Okay, he didn't say that last one but god damn, he complains as much as the commander before him. Just this time it's all about me. I'm training to be an assassin. I'm not going to learn everything all at once.

I try to take a step and stumble. "Son of a bitch,"

Watch your footing he would say.

Huh, this one has a date section on this one. I'm using another diary now. The last one got a couple of bloodstains on it. That's part of our training, I guess: keep yourself on your toes. Initiates are allowed to 'improvise' near exams in order to gain an edge. I'm limping again, but I'm not the one with the shank wound. Kalidor doesn't approve of this practice, but it helps relieve the frustration I've built up over the past couple days. That's another part of this; it's meant to desensitize us for future missions. I'll say this, I never needed it.

I hate politics. If one of you bureaucrats find this diary and complains, go fuck yourself. I just hate the confusion and bickering that always goes on in the senate building. All the noise, noise, noise. I guess the only interesting part is the infidelity. Being locked up for a week can do some strange things to a man. A couple of the senators have flings while court is in recess, so they've taken up the practice of having concubines in their private chambers. A couple of the initiates and myself have started up a game to break into the chambers and steal something from the woman. So far I've collected five foreign coins, two hair ornaments and a leather bondage set. I haven't told anyone about that one because I plan on planting in Senator Bornhald's chambers for later. He's a dick.

Heh, we might have our match at the Spec. Ops. training camp. Carriers from across the realm come back at times to report news. Caught wind of something interesting in the deep south while I was in Senator Hoinheim's room. Apparently there's a young man there who's concocting up all sorts of stuff for the Scientific Research and Development Bureau. A week after he got there, a fast-aging virus was spread to the local villages, killing them all in the following week. Supposedly it was only a field test, which is why it had such a short lifespan, but awesome. Someone who knows how to get things done.

Still, he'll probably be a cocky bastard, killing everybody at once while we're stuck doing it one at a time.

Now that I think of it, Nara's pretty big. At 12,000 miles east to west and 7,000 north to south, Nara holds the majority in population in the world while only containing a third of the land. We run the place. Why are there assassins in-training like myself here? We're the minority and the majority at the same time. We are the largest nation, but we're still out-manned against the world. Cloak and dagger, power-plays, filibusters, conspiracies, forgery, blackmail, and so, so many others. On occasion, I'm a little jealous; politicians get to have as much fun as I do on occasions. Trainees aren't allowed to go on the field, which is why we haven't been allowed to leave the capitol. To utterly dominate your opponent, to watch everything they've worked for go up in smoke due to a clever mind, it kinda makes me get a boner.

Power-politics is how Nara gets most of its strength; we're the backup and the enforcers. We're used to grease the wheels. Speaking of greasing the wheels, I have to prepare for my final exam. If I pass, I become a full-fledged spy. Wish my luck, inanimate object.

Okay... we're near the industrial district of Allegar, the capitol of Nara, and about 10 miles away from the training camp. By 'we' I mean the rest of the class. There's a little over thirty of us here and if tradition remains true, less than a third of that will pass. Kalidor's here too overseeing everything. Grumpy bastard; does he ever do anything but scowl? He trains half of, well, everybody, yeah, but laugh a little will ya?

Anyway, he will personally pick those that pass the cla-- stop staring you grumpy son of a bitch, it's just a diary; I'm still taking this seriously, you know. How far's that sword up your ass Kal?

To get right down to it, Our objective is to clear out a building without using any weapons. It's still allowed to use whatever's in the building to your advantage, be it clothing, plastic, nails, wire, whatever, as long as its intended use is not to kill anyone. Another hitch: if you're seen, you fail. I'm up soon, and it's going to be a real nut buster.

Okay, I'm in the basement of a five story building, with an unknown number of assailants, and the building is bugged to watch my every move. It's in the industrial section, so there's plenty of cover. I smell cleaning agents. Might be able to make a crude knockout concoction out of some of it. Cover will be intermittent, but effective when it's there, depending if they haven't stripped the building bare already.

Heh, I just got the image of the staff and Kalidor fuming at me while I write in this. Priceless.

As I rub my hands across the floor, it's stained with oil and grime from years of use. Good. It makes for good face paints and covering up lingering odors. I'll chance the rest of the building having a uniform musk. I'm pasty white and starting to smell a little due to the ride over here.

((I'm teaching you all how to break in and enter, aren't I?))

There's a cast iron door between me and the next room, and it just screams trap. Who doesn't like to screw new recruits the very microsecond they enter a training zone? Let's take a look here...

lol. The next room has two guards. The ceiling is covered in hooks and conveyor belts to move items around. There's an L shaped conveyor belt at waist level on the ground as well coming from the wall right of the door and exiting on the left side of the room. One guard on the far left, the other on the opposite end of the room next to the door. Only a conveyor belt as cover and no way in hell to not alert them.

Oh, this is gonna be fun.
